Bill + Amy (8.01.2020)

Updated: Nov 18, 2020

Bill and Amy had a smaller wedding on a summer evening behind the home of some of their closest friends. Don't let the idea of a small wedding at a private residence fool you, they take just as much time an effort as a wedding at a large venue!

When I arrived at the private residence I found the bride getting all glammed up, and the groom...well he was taking a little nap. Stephanie Williams did a wonderful job on Amy’s hair and makeup, and Amy’s big smile was exactly what was needed to finish the look!

Amy was accompanied by her maid of honor while getting ready, but she also had a moment alone to gather her thoughts and read a note Bill had written to her.

Bill, the groom, is a big goofball who is always making somebody laugh. He coaches football at a local high school and had three of his players help me out with set-up, flipping, and tear down. They were a huge help and things ran so smoothly because of them.

The home where the wedding took place is a beautiful white farmhouse with a small barn attached. The ceremony took place in front of a lovely pond in the backyard. The couple kept their processional songs a secret so they could surprise each other when they walked down the aisle. This was a sweet touch to an already special night.

The ceremony chairs were flipped to the reception area on the back patio where the buffet was set up and ready to go. The couple chose navy and orange linens to showcase their love for the Auburn Tigers, and had cute homemade centerpieces.

Friends of Bill and Amy catered a delicious barbecue dinner accompanied by AMAZING banana pudding. I mean the night was already pretty sweet but that pudding really put it over the edge.

Bill’s best man gave a lovely toast to the couple and it was time for cake. The groom’s cake was, as I’m sure you can guess, football themed! Between his love for the Tigers and coaching a local team, this cake was a great choice to represent Bill’s interest. The wedding cake was three tiers, but not together as one cake. This strayed from a traditional (assembled) three tier cake and added a fun look to the table!

As the night winded down guests headed home and the newlyweds relaxed around the fire pit with a few close friends. A perfect ending to a beautiful night.
