April + Luke (9.19.20)

A Night in Atlanta

In the midst of a busy Saturday in the heart of Atlanta, our team was fast at work to make a new venue come to life. With white brick walls and an industrial look, Ambient + Studio was the perfect backdrop for our special couple’s day. Despite the struggles that the pandemic brought, April and Luke were a joy to work with. We really appreciated their positive attitude throughout the entire wedding planning process. Being a part of their special day was one of the highlights of our September!

Getaway in the City

The hustle and bustle of city life can be exhausting but this venue was the perfect breath of fresh air. The natural white light overlooked the ceremony spot filled with white chairs, boxed florals, and a blush drapery arbor. The right mix of simple greens and lush roses proved to be a gorgeous backdrop for April and Luke’s big moment.

Ceremony Details

Pull back the drapery, it’s showtime! Escorted by her dad, April walked down the aisle in a stunning beaded dress, holding a dusty rose bouquet filled with succulents, mixed greens, and white anemones. In accordance with the color palette of the evening, April’s four bridesmaids wore variant white tops with flowing long, green skirts while Luke’s five groomsmen wore grey suits donned with pink roses and mini succulent boutonnieres. Before we knew it, April and Luke said “I Do!” and sealed their love with a kiss.

Around the World

The Schrader’s were one of the most adventurous couples we have ever worked with! It was so exciting to hear about and see all of the trips these two had been on ever since they fell in love. Let’s set the scene for you: Hanging lights. A guest “globe.” A vintage suitcase for cards and gifts. Perhaps our favorite and most elaborate greenery set-up EVER completed the entire look. Dreamy smilax fell from the ceiling paired with mixed edison bulbs- the ultimate backdrop for the head table.

Each table centerpiece had vintage pieces from April and Luke’s adventures from around the world. Honolulu, Washington, D.C., and Cancun were just a few places that captured their hearts. Every guest received a personalized bag tag for their next travel and a luggage bag filled with candy. Overall, it was an escape from reality and a much needed trip around the world, something we hadn’t experienced in a long time due to COVID restrictions.

As the Night Ends...

As the night went on, guests danced the night away under the wooden rafters and took silly pictures in the photo booth. April and Luke’s first dance was beautiful and definitely a show stopper! The pasta made by AV Gourmet was so yummy. After dinner, April and Luke cut into the two-tiered cake complete with icing roses and piped with white beads. Everyone laughed along to the maid of honor and best man's speeches and raised their glasses to April and Luke’s forever. As the night wound down, the couple was sent out by paper airplanes that said “Let Love Fly.” It was the best way to send April and Luke out onto their next adventure. Cheers to the bride and groom and may they travel into a venturesome life!
